Stress mobilized our ancient ancestors into action! When they perceived a threat their brain/body would shift into a fight or flight mode. This was used for survival and would primarily be short in duration, giving them just enough to fight or run out of danger. Nowadays we still have the same exact stress response encoded into our DNA, but when our body goes into a code RED alert we don't do anything! We sit there swallowing stress all day when we really need to USE it or DIFFUSE it.
